COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION -ITS VISION AND MISSION
Every University, school, business, hotel, restaurant, agency and company has vision mission and objective. Its purpose is to simply achieve an organization’s plans and goals to be successful. It serves as a lamp to see the boundless possibility that guides them down the road. It aids them to walk in a more precise, systematize path to smoothly get what they want to be achieved. A vision is a mental picture of what an organization wants to accomplish or achieve while the mission is a general statement of how the vision will be achieved. Only, organizations and departments differ in ways on how to use a mission statement in order to achieve the vision statement and it’s called strategies. A good vision statement should be a means of describing a desired outcome that invokes a vivid picture of the goal, it should inspires and engages, it should be what the people would turn to whenever they get lost and confused.

New Era University is not only an epitome of a good vision statement. Having a good vision statement doesn’t necessarily to be a nice one liner punch that stimulates people to further read or an excellent one that can persuade everybody but a statement rooted on Christianity and has a sense of Godliness in everything that want to envision. NEU vision statement humbly claims it is -A world-class Institution of learning with a unique Christian culture of excellence, discipline, and service to humanity. Together with the aid of its mission statement: -Provide quality education anchored on Christian values with the prime purpose of bringing honor and glory to God. This is to produce globally competitive and God-fearing students that will handle the future. No doubt, College of Communication inspired and adopted this discipline to initially seal students in a more standardized goal. This is a way to lead them in an organized manner because it has a goal that let them see what they have to obtain.
As all things change over the period of time and since change is the only constant in life, vision and mission of the College of Communication raced to have a change too but for the better and more logical way. As being stated by the old curriculum of AB Mass communication’s vision is -To become technologically competitive institution that produces excellent writers and God-fearing communicators in print, electronic and specialized media. This explains that the college wanted to produce great writers and professional communicators whether verbally or in writing and has a sense of Godliness planted in their hearts. In accordance to this, the mission statement was to –Provide quality education anchored on Christian values and maximize student potentials to cope with the fast-trending changes of the sensitive world of communication. This statement engaged students to participate more in all activities to externalize their hidden talent and boost what they’re already have by this way students can compete and adjust quickly to the outside and real world.
By entering the new curriculum under a nomenclature of BA Communication, everything’s taken so light and smooth maybe because when something good has happened like as being an independent college the more it will improve and change. New vision statement humbly claims that it is - A globally competitive college guided by true Christian values and ethics in the delivery of quality education based on communication research, community development extension services and excellent multi-media professional practice. The statement proclaims student will become more professional and educated by presenting them vast academic resources and excellent practices and procedures. With the aid of this, its mission is to - Provide quality education anchored on Christian culture maximizing the complimentary contribution of teachers’ and learners’ potentials in honor and glory of God. Teachers or professors are included not only the students in this statement, perhaps it is for the benefit of all as professors and students learn from each other.
The vision and mission were change in a more condensed, logical and better explanation which can manifest from the graduates of the new curriculum and from the ones who are continuously studying and striving hoping for a better life someday.
By changing the vision and mission of the Department of Communication is not that real big thing at all, I just want to take a notice of the small things not every student would mind. I just want to relate that change to the ones who are for it, to the reasons why these stuffs are made –the students. I’m kind of sure that old students strived hard in a given situation before and nothing differs from what the students are facing right now. Education is not the same like before, the farther a student runs the harder it gets to be there. Students have different ways of coping. What I want to say is, whatever the situation or change might come along the process, communication student can adjust and think quickly because they are taught to become globally competitive and proper responsiveness with Godliness and a Christian nature.
